As the noon sun shone through the Alleghenies, a photo was snapped of two Penn Central diesels, pulling a medium-sized load of box cars, on track 3. In the forefront is GP-40 #2488, while the assisting unit is an F7 locomotive, also serving in the Penn Central RR. This unique duo of diesel locomotives were freshly painted in black livery, since the time period was during the first couple months of Penn Central's establishment.
