This afternoon, with time progressing forward to the end of 1968 - after the establishment of the Penn Central RR - two examples of early EMD diesel power came into view at the Horseshoe Curve. In the lead is exPRR GP-30 #2230, while the second locomotive is a freshly-painted Penn Central F7. Both easily handle the box-car load, pulling in the direction back to Altoona, on track 1.
