Completing the mountains....
Over the course of this weekend, I have achieved success for completing the scenery on the last section of the Allegheny mountains on the Horseshoe Curve Branch Line. As seen in prior posts, foam was used to form the mountain shape, and then Plaster-of-Paris was applied to fill out the stadium like appearance of the foam layers. Here's a shot of the mountains as the plaster steadily dried-
Once it had dried enough to a paint-able state, a different shade of tan was applied to contrast slightly from the lighter color paint in the surrounding scenery. Once that was done, all that was left was adding Woodland Scenic's clump foliage and the entire mountain turned out to be a huge success. Below is a photo of what the layout looks like currently- with both Kittanning Reservoirs painted in the preliminary, using an aqua-blue color-
What's next- laying the ballast stone, attaching the track, and putting the finishing touches on both of the reservoirs.
